Register for the 45th Reunion Founders Day Weekend!

We have made some changes to the 45th Reunion Founders Day Weekend.  It will all begin on Friday, November 4th, 2011 and will be based from the Town & Country Hotel.

Step 1:

Go below and register for one of the packages to play golf, attend the Friday night happy hour, go to the tailgate or all of the above.

Step 2:

Book your room at the Town & Country Hotel. All events will happen from the hotel and we have a 2 for 1 special on rooms that weekend.

We’re stuck with the rooms so now we’re giving them away.  For those of you who have already booked, we’ll make sure you’re a part of this deal as well.  In either case, you’ll have to book both nights yourself and we’ll reimburse you for the second night. Online reservations are now closed, but you can call the Town & Country at 800-772-8527 and ask for the Delta Upsilon Reunion rate.

Please note: We can only give you a refund if you book both Friday and Saturday nights, if your reservation is made with the Delta Upsilon Reunion rate and if you make your request for refund to info@ducktalk.org.  Please provide us with your reservation number and allow 30 days from the date of the reunion for your refund.

Of course, since this is a way for us to minimize our loses, if you prefer  to donate that second night to the association, you’re more than welcome.

Step 3:

Football tickets are not included in the price so you’ll have to go here to purchase them. We’re trying to seat everyone in the same section: Plaza or View in Section 21 & 22. That’s the Aztec side, of course. Loge is good, as well, if you can’t get in the other sections.

Step 4:

Tell your friends to sign up as soon as possible so we know how much beer and food to get. Go Aztecs!

Below is the schedule of events for the weekend. You can register by making a payment through Pay Pal below.

With all the rain we’ve been having the Q is all but, under water.  Stadium officials hope to have it all drained in time for the game Thursday evening.  So what does that mean for DU?

Qualcomm expects more than 50,000 people to attend the game so it could be a big mess.  Therefore, DU will not be hosting an official tailgate, but many bros have indicated they will go to B3 before the game, regardless.  Some will try to get as close to the B3 sign as possible, but everyone is advised to get there early and BYOB.

A good option is to take the trolley into the stadium.  There are many stops throughout the city for parking.

For those of you driving, it’s up to you if you want to bring extra beer for your bros.  Most of us will be more than happy to spot you a few bucks to help with the expense.

If you go to B3 and can’t find anyone there, try the sports bar on the Plaza level.  The Q starts pouring beer two hours before the game so there is plenty of incentive to get there early.  Good luck and go Aztecs!  We’ll see you at the game.

Get Your Tickets Here

Johnny O. has got a handful of tickets to the Aztecs vs. St. Mary’s game on December 1st.  They’re going fast so if you want any of them, you better move fast.  They are $12 each and we’re meeting at the chapter house at 4:30pm for a pre-game BBQ and libations.  We ask that you chip in $7 to help the chapter offset the costs.

To get your tickets you need to complete two steps.

1) Email John Orendain  at orendainco@aol.com to make sure they are still available.

2) Make a payment using the PayPal button below:

You can chip in your $7 for the BBQ online or you can bring some extra cash with you. We will also have shirts and caps available for sale on case you didn’t get a chance to get one at Founders Day. And of course, any extra you’d like to chip in for our programs would be appreciated.

We’re still collecting memorabilia, too, so bring those old paddles, t-shirts, mugs and whatever else your wife has been trying to get you to ditch.  We’ll display it in one of our cases in the chapter room.

Go Aztecs!

Fun Times this Friday and Saturday

This weekend is turning into something of a reunion.  We’ve got a lot planned and hope you can join us for as much of it as possible.  Many Bros are bringing their families and a few are flying into town from up north.

We’ve made it as easy as possible for you; it’s all at the Catamaran Hotel in Mission Beach and all on the same weekend so there’s no excuse not to come join the fun.  Below is your schedule of events.

Annual DU Alumni Meeting
Friday, August 20th from 5:30 to 7:00BOD Meeting
The Catamaran Hotel, Rousseau Meeting Room
3999 Mission Blvd.
San Diego, CA 92109

Ever wonder how we spend our money?  Are you interested in what we are doing to assist the chapter?  Want to know more about the alumni association and our role in the community?

This is your chance to sit in on a board of directors’ meeting to see how we conduct the business of your alumni association.  In addition to discussing how we can better serve our members and reach out to assist as many brothers as possible, we also discuss our involvement with the chapter as well as its relevancy at SDSU.

Come join us and participate in the decisions affecting the San Diego County Delta Upsilon Alumni Association.  Special Guest: Eric Chamberlain, DU Associate Executive Director

Pre-Tournament Happy Hour
Friday, August 20th, Immediately Following the MeetingPadres Happy Hour
The Catamaran Hotel, Moray’s Bar
3999 Mission Blvd.
San Diego, CA 92109

Come for the meeting, stay for the fun.  Meet up with your Bros and Little Sisters from years past.  Meet some of the many DU’s in San Diego from other parts of the country.  This is nothing formal, just a few cocktails and a good time with friends.

The Annual Tim McGee Wiffle Ball Tournament
Saturday, August 21st, All Day
The Catamaran Hotel (actually, it’s on the sand and grass on the beach side of the hotel)
3999 Mission Blvd.
Tim Duck
San Diego, CA 92109

For those of you in the tournament, we will contact you by Thursday to let you know when you are scheduled to play your first game.  There is still time to sign up to play.  See the sign up instructions on the side bar to the right of the screen.  It’s $20 per person or you can pay for your whole team for $60.

We have a headquarters suite right in front on the grass so you can get there as early as you want to hang out.  Anybody arriving before 9:00am is advised to bring Joe and Kath a Bloody Mary (and hot chocolate for the kids) – thanks, Joe, for organizing the tournament!

We will have food, beer and soft drinks a little later so come hang out, even if you are not playing in the tournament.
